CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

It's a video that was seen across the nation, and a firing that was heard just as loudly.

Detroit Pershing High School teacher Tiffani Eaton was fired from her school after she used a broomstick to break up a fight between two students.

"I called security. I waited for security…it was chaos. It was chaos,” said Eaton.

On Tuesday, a statement was released from the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan regarding Pershing’s situation.

"After further review of the incident that occurred at Pershing High School on April 30, the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan (EAA) has made the decision to reinstate Tiffani Eaton as a teacher at Pershing High School. She will receive retro pay from the date of her dismissal. In addition, the EAA will provide Ms. Eaton with the option of being assigned to another building within the district, if she so chooses."

Eaton still, though, is affected emotionally by the video.

“It takes something out of me, every time I watch it," added Eaton.

While Eaton spoke with FOX on Monday, on Tuesday she kept quiet as she and her attorney are in talks with the EAA regarding her reinstated job.

"We appreciate that the EAA acknowledges that their previous action was wrong and we are in good faith discussions with the school district to bring this matter to a resolution. Once that has occurred, Ms. Eaton will be available for comment," said Eaton’s attorney.
