Calhoun HS students accused of rape not at graduation

GILMER COUNTY, Ga. -
What should have been a night of fun and memories at a senior prom ended with a rape allegation in Gilmer County.
Gilmer County Sheriff Stacy Nicholson confirms his department is investigating a rape allegation that allegedly happened Saturday night into Sunday morning during a party in a cabin in the Coosawattee River Resort.
The superintendent of Calhoun City Schools confirms there had been a prom Saturday, May 10 for Calhoun High School.
According to the Sheriff, the cabin gathering appeared to be an after-prom gathering. The victim, 18, is a Calhoun student who ended up in the hospital before the night was over.
"They were having a party. Lots of alcohol was being consumed," said Sheriff Nicholson.
The Sheriff told FOX 5 his office was notified of the incident by the hospital.
According school officials, three students have been named as suspects. No suspect names have been released at this time.
The three male students accused of rape did not attend graduation Friday night.
