PALMETTO, Ga. - The woman's body was discovered in Palmetto on Thursday afternoon has been identified.

The body, identified as Latonya Morris ‘ Fig, was found in some woods off Williams Road by a man and his grandson riding ATV's.

Investigators say the 45-year old woman lived in Stone Mountain and suffered multiple gun shot wounds.

Palmetto Police responded to a call around 3:00 p.m. and arrived shortly after they say the woman was murdered.

According to police, "one of the gun shot wounds was located in the side of the head area and the second gun shot wound was located in the throat area of the victim."
