DETROIT (WJBK) - The gut wrenching video shows a group home worker whipping a mentally disabled woman. It's a story we've been following for days on Fox 2. After our story aired, Detroit police arrested the woman involved. Sunday, she was arraigned on felony charges.

The hearing went quickly, with little emotion from the defendant. There were no family members present, even on the vicitm's side. But we got our first good luck at the suspect. Kadia Konate Dennard, 47. She faces five counts stemming from the May 12 incident at Strathmoor Manor in Detroit. The group home has since been shut down by the state.

The horrific video was captured by a co-worker. Dennard is accused of intentionally causing harm to someone in her care, a 15 year felony, and assault with a dangerous weapon. The items used in the beating include a map handle and a radio cord. We're told the victim has the mental capacity of a 3 year old and cannot speak.

Bond for Dennard was set at $200,000. Her next court date is May 30.
