Neighbors waiting for house with giant tree branch to be demolished

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) - Residents in a Detroit neighborhood say they've been waiting a decade for two eyesores to be demolished.

One house on King Street near Woodward Avenue has a collapsed roof and a massive tree branch has fallen on the other house.

Neighbors tell FOX 2's Randy Wimbley they thought the demolition would happen last week but the houses are still standing.

A spokesperson for Mayor Mike Duggan's office says the order came down on May 15 for the houses to be demolished, but that does not mean they would come down immediately after. The cities says a few hurdles still need to be cleared but the properties could be demolished in two weeks.
