Teacher-student relationship investigated at local Catholic school

Posted: Updated:
MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) - A female teacher at a Catholic school in metro Detroit is accused of having a sexual relationship with a male student.

The Madison Heights Police Department says a complaint was filed Friday by the President of Bishop Foley High School and the parents of the 15-year-old student.

FOX 2's Taryn Asher reports the teacher alleged to be involved has been fired.

Sources tell Asher several texts and images that are sexual in nature are also being investigated.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are getting involved as the alleged conduct is believed to have happened in multiple cities.

The Archdiocese of Detroit said in a statement, "Providing a safe, Christian environment for students is at the very core of what it means to be a Catholic school. Whatever the details or outcome, such allegations are disconcerting and are treated with the utmost seriousness."
