DETROIT (WJBK) - Efforts continue to stop a flasher targeting school girls in Detroit. Authorities now have a person of interest in custody but his loved ones believe he should be released.

A green pickup seen in surveillance video has been a focus for investigators as they try to catch the flasher and get him off the streets.

Monday morning, police stopped a green pickup truck they were tailing with two men inside and took one in for questioning as a person of interest. We're told he matches the description given by witnesses of a bald black man in his 40s with a dark complexion and salt-and-pepper beard.

Witnesses told police the flasher has exposed himself to female students at least five times. Sometimes he's completely nude and other times he's just wearing a shirt.

The most recent incident was Wednesday Morning, May 28, near Lyndon and Sussex.

The flasher is said to park along a school route and waits to expose himself to young girls who are crossing the street.

Police are not releasing details about the person taken into custody, but FOX 2's Robin Schwartz talked to his son and his coworker. Both say, while the man and his truck may match the description police were looking for, they do not believe he's the right guy.

They say the man being questioned is a construction worker and a father of seven children, who is typically on the job all day long. They say he wouldn't have time to be driving the green Dodge Ram pickup truck around exposing himself to children.

So far, there have been no charges but sources tell FOX 2 investigators believe they're on the right track to solve this case.
