Fire at abandoned apartment building; No injuries

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -- Detroit firefighters worked Friday morning to extinguish an overnight fire at a vacant apartment building on Detroit's west side.

The fire started early Friday morning at a building in the area of Woodward Avenue and W. Nevada Street.  The building is abandoned, but it is surrounded by occupied homes and a health clinic.

Neighbors believe the abandoned building has been an on-going problem, and hope to see it demolished.

The fire is under control.  No one was injured.
