ATM gives gold instead of cash

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

An ATM on West 57th Street in Manhattan offers gold instead of cash.

Stack’s Bowers Galleries has tapped into the tempting allure of gold. The company installed the unusual ATM. You put in cash and out pops a gold bar or coin. One ounce of gold today is worth about $1,300.

Some believe stockpiling gold might be a good investment when the economy is down or in the event of a natural disaster when paper money won’t trade.
