College student finds cash in Prospect Park

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Marymount Manhattan College student Julia Beatty cashed in over the weekend in the @HiddenCash scavenger hunt.

59 envelopes were scattered across New York on Saturday as part of the scavenger hunt created by real-estate investor, Jason Buzi.

“I saw the trail on Twitter,” said Beatty on Good Day New York. “I didn’t know the park (Prospect Park) at all so I asked someone. They didn’t seem interested in hunting.”

Another clue from @HiddenCash helped Beatty locate the cash. “It was something about the 9th avenue subway and it was the trail closest to the subway.”

The first location @HiddenCash tweeted was at Central Park in Manhattan.

“Look around The Pond! (59th and 5th). Many there. If you can make it within an hour, it’s not too late! Go!”

40 envelopes were scattered around Central Park. One winner said he was going to use his $50 to take his dad out to dinner for Father’s Day.

There is no word on if all the envelopes were discovered according to @HiddenCash who tweeted, “Please tweet a photo when you find the $$$. Most people didn’t this weekend. When you don’t, we have no idea how much is left.”
