Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) - The Michigan State Police closed down Southbound M39 at 8 Mile Road at the request of the Detroit Police Department for a hazardous situation Thursday around 4:30 p.m.

Detroit police say someone called 911 about a neighbor threatening another neighbor with a bomb. The neighbor who made the threat told the victim the bomb had been placed on the doorstep, according to police.

Police found a canister with wires on the porch and the Michigan State Police bomb squad responded.

The scene has since been cleared and the road has been reopened.

No word on any injuries or arrests.
