June of 2014 goes out with a bang!

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The severe weather event of June 30th was impressive, especially for areas south of the Chicago metro.

Hurricane force wind gusts, rainfall amounts between 1-3”, and small hail were reported across the Chicago area, including parts of northwest Indiana.

Here is a short list of the highest wind gusts recorded from last night’s storms:

Bolingbrook – 82mph

Oswego – 75mph

Park Forest – 75mph

Lockport – 70mph

Plainfield – 70mph

In addition to last night’s storms, June of 2014 went down as the 5th wettest on record, with Chicago’s O’Hare receiving 7.81” of rain.

Here are some additional rainfall totals for June:

Midway – 7.72”

DuPage – 6.94”

Aurora/Sugar Grove – 8.96”

Valparaiso – 8.81”

Waukegan – 7.25”

Rockford – 8.06”

The 30 day outlook from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is forecasting near normal conditions in terms of temperature and precipitation.
