Lollapalooza goes cashless in 2014

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Lollapalooza 2014 will be a little different from previous years.

This year, the event is trying a new initiative called ‘Lolla Cashless.’ Attendees will be given a wristband that uses radio frequencies to make payments, according to a report by Adweek.

The wristbands will be sent to concertgoers leading up to the event in August, and the bracelets can be linked to credit card information in order to make a purchase.

A small chip is planted into the wristband and attendees can log online to register payment information. Once at the concert, attendees can then simply swipe their wrist over a technology-enabled pad and type in a PIN to make a charge.
