ASTON, Pa. -

Parents are on guard as police in Delaware County look for a man who allegedly tried to lure two children in Aston on Sunday.

The two girls say they were approached to go for a ride.

Fox 29’s Thalia Perez has reaction from concerned residents.

“I put it on my message board and told everyone I know. just scared to death,” said parent Kramer.

Kramer says she and her neighbors in the tight knit community are on edge after the attempted luring.

Police say it happened on Glendale Blvd. just before 7 p.m. The two girls, ages 11 and 14, were playing when a man driving an older model, gold, four door sedan stopped and told them to get in his car by offering them candy, according to police.

"We freaked out. We go to that park all the time. I’m worried about him. I’m worried about what people are doing and what the police are doing about it,” said Kramer.

According to authorities, the girls ran home and reported the incident to police.

"As grandparents, we need to advise our children that these are the situations that they may come across. and they need to be aware of them,’ said grandparent George Davidson.
