A teenage girl was sexually assaulted at gunpoint while walking home Tuesday afternoon in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood.
The 16-year-old was walking home near the intersection of East 93rd Street and South Cornell Avenue at 12:40 p.m. when a man walked up to her and began a conversation, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.
As they walked together, the man pulled out a handgun and forced the girl into an alley in the 9300 block of South East End Avenue, where he sexually assaulted her, police said.
After the attack, the man drove off in an older-model, tan Mercury car he had hidden in the alley, police said.
The suspect is described as a black man 19-23, about 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds with a dark complexion. He has short hair with a line shaved on the left side of his head.
