'Grand bargain' votes due this Friday, police union reaches agreement

DETROIT (WJBK) - Ballots are due Friday for Detroit workers and retirees voting on the city's bankruptcy plan of adjustment.

Part of the plan includes a pay bump for many employees, but it's not really a raise.

Also, Fox 2 is now getting word on the details of the economic portion of the Detroit Police Officers Association's tentative agreement.
  • A 5 percent pay increase will begin on July 1, 2014 in addition to a one-time bonus of $1,156 on December 1, 2014.
  • A 2 percent bonus will go in effect January of 2015 and a 1 percent bonus in August of 2015.
  • Small bonuses will also be enacted twice a year through 2018 totaling $3,274.
Members still need to vote on the plan.
