Glendale Police arrest man accused of shooting his girlfriend

Posted: Updated:

Police say a woman has been found fatally shot at a Glendale home.

Glendale police say they received a call around 1:30 p.m. Friday about a shooting near 49th and Northern avenues.

When officers arrived, they found a woman, 22-year-old Deanna Aguilar, inside the house with a gunshot wound.

She was declared her dead at the scene.

A man found outside the home, Alex Luke Felter, has been arrested on charges of second-degree murder in the case.  Detectives believe he shot and killed his girlfriend.

"The 24-year-old male at this point is an investigative lead.  There was nobody else inside of the residence," says Glendale Police Sgt. Jay O'Neill.

Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
