Two Rescued, Two Escape From Aspen St. Fire

Four people escaped an overnight fire without injury early Saturday morning on the 3100 block of Aspen Street in Fairmount.

The fire broke out around 2:40 a.m. in a three story, standalone home, and was under control by 3:11 a.m.

According to fire officials, a total of four people were home at the time of the fire, and two were able to make it out on their own.

The other two inhabitants were rescued from the third floor by police, and no injuries were reported.

One firefighter sustained a minor hand injury.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
