CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Wednesday was another violent day in the city of Chicago. At least two people were killed and six others were wounded in shootings across the city. One of those victims, a 16-year-old boy, died in a shooting within two blocks of his home Wednesday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Darren Foggey was shot about 9:25 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Artesian Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Foggey, of the 6900 block of South Artesian Avenue, was in a bedroom when a bullet went through a window and struck him in the neck, authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:40 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. A police source said the teen was gang affiliated.

Foggey's shooting comes as police continue to investigate the shooting death of 11-year-old Shamiya Adams. Adams was shot while she was at a sleepover at her friend's home.
