CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A Tennessee woman has been cited in relation to a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway Friday afternoon that injured three people and caused a cement truck to roll over.

A Mack truck and a Chevrolet Cobalt were in the northbound lanes of the expressway near 47th Street about 1 p.m. when the Cobalt swerved and struck the truck, according to Illinois State Police.

Both vehicles swerved to the left and struck the median, which caused the truck to fall over onto the Cobalt and spill dried concrete, according to state police.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Cobalt suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospitals, state police said.

According to Fire Media Affairs, one person was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition.

The Cobalt’s driver, 43-year-old Ursula D. Truss of Lavergne, Tenn., was cited for improper lane usage, according to state police.

All local northbound lanes and the right express lane of the expressway were closed after the crash, but local lanes had reopened as of 5 p.m., according to state police.
