Ella is a strong little princess. Though she is small, the fight within her is huge.
At just seven months old, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare brain disorder called Congenital Bilateral Perisylvian Syndrome. The rare, incurable disorder causes partial paralysis of facial muscles on both sides of the face, tongue, jaws and throat with difficulty in speaking, chewing, eating and swallowing. It also involves a sudden onset of uncontrolled epilepsy.
At two-years-old, Ella faces even more complications. Ella’s small intestine doesn’t function properly. The only way she is able to eat is through a central line to her chest. She is hooked up to an IV for 16 hours a day.
Ella was hospitalized at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia last week due to a severe seizure. A heart-breaking day soon became a beautiful lifetime memory thanks to a kind stranger from Kid Krashers ,a party entertainment company. An employee messaged the family asking who Ella’s favorite characters were. To their surprise, days later, two of Ella’s favorite Disney characters showed up to help Ella smile. Ella spent the day being a princess with Elsa from Frozen and Minnie Mouse. Ella’s mom says although she may never go Disney world, what they did for her was truly amazing.
