CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Friday night, the Chicago Bears will finally get to hit someone other than each other!

The Bears are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field in their first preseason game. It is unclear if Martellus Bennett and Jared Allen will play in the match-up. But even if it is lacking some star power, the game could provide a glimpse of what is to come this season.

Coaches say preseason games gives them a chance to see how the players are doing and how they perform under the lights.

Friday morning's breeze really put football fans in the mood for some Bears football.

"When the weather starts to get a little cool and you see everybody pumped up, people start getting in the tailgating mood. It just revs up the city. Chicago is a sports-oriented city," one fan said.

Hours before the game kicked off, Bears fans all over the Chicago area had one thing to say, "Go Bears!"

"Every body is excited about the Bears! We are hoping and praying they make it to the Super Bowl," one football fan told FOX 32's Anita Padilla.
