WAYNE, Mich. (WJBK) - On Friday and Saturday the Wayne Westland firefighters union are helping the family of one of their own who died in the line of duty.

Brian Woehlke, 29, was killed in an arson fire at a Westland strip mall in May, 2012.

A two-day benefit began Saturday at US-12 on Michigan Avenue in Wayne for the family he left behind, as well as several other fallen heroes at The Woehlke-Palooza.

Carl Peters of the Wayne Westland Fire Department said that it is a celebration and that all money will go towards fallen police and fire fund.

The benefit continues Saturday with games and live entertainment including local band Sponge.
