NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Rapper Joe Budden was arrested by the NYPD on Wednesday in connection with the robbery of his ex-girlfriend's cell phone earlier this month.

Police had been looking for the New Jersey resident since Aug. 18 after a heated argument with the woman inside his car in Washington Heights. Police say the 25-year-old woman got into his vehicle at Nagle Ave. and Dyckman St. and an argument erupted. Budden then took the phone, according to police.

The 33-year-old  is also accused of twisting her arm during the incident.

The Jersey City native who rose to fame with the hit single 'Pump It Up,' faces several charges including robbery and grand larceny.

Budden had been taunting police since the robbery with posts to Twitter on his whereabouts.

On Tuesday he sent out several Tweets: "#FreeBudd... Oh Wait... Too early, my bad." He reportedly turned himself into police hours later.

After he was arrested on Wednesday, he apparently Tweeted several times from jail.

"#FreeBudden."

"So... There is wifi here by the way."

"I'll be out in time for the strip club later."

Modern dancers, writhing half-naked in front of giant weather-themed video installations. Miley Cyrus, not twerking, but working — in a new gig making jewelry with children's beads. A guy mowing a fake indoor lawn in a suit, top hat and fishnet tights. We didn't need to tell you that Fashion Week isn't only about hemlines and tailoring, did we? Some weird or wonderful (and sometimes both) moments of New York Fashion Week...
