Fox 2 and Gardner White Furniture proudly present: "Tribute to Our Troops"

Play the video to meet some amazing men and women from Michigan who risk their lives to serve, often thousands of miles away from the people they love. Their mission: to make sure you are free and safe.

Some of the stories in the special tribute:

Alex Knapp lost his legs in a bomb attack in Iraq. He returned to Michigan to become a true inspiration to everyone he encountered. Overcoming obstacles, he managed to play the sport he loves, hockey, with a specially equipped wheelchair.  Find out why his family hopes his spirit lives on to inspire others, Alex's legacy that 'life' is a gift.

Learn about what is life in Afghanistan. Service members tell us why they think "America" is there and about the job they attempt to do everyday. The troops also share the pain of leaving family behind and what it's like to lose a fellow service member.

Travel back in time with World War II veterans, who vividly remember their service from more than a half-century ago. Board a bus, a plane and travel with Fox 2's own military veteran Rich Luterman, to our nation's capitol. He joined more than 100 World War II vets as they visited the memorial dedicated to their service in Washington, D.C.

Finally, please take a moment to remember the men and women from Michigan who gave their lives to secure freedom for you.
